Figurine of a Hunting Dog Royal Dux Bohemia - porcelain, 1920s

We present an exceptional porcelain figurine depicting a hunting dog in a dynamic pose, holding a hunted bird in its mouth. It is an excellent example of the craftsmanship of the Czech manufacturer Royal Dux Bohemia, which has been appreciated by collectors worldwide since the end of the 19th century. We are likely dealing with a setter or a greyhound, captured in a moment of triumph – proud, alert, full of energy. The figurine is kept in white, which emphasizes the nobility of the porcelain and gives it an elegant, yet timeless character. The style and modeling indicate the interwar period – the 1920s or 1930s, when the manufacturer was experiencing its golden age and hunting motifs were extremely popular among the European aristocracy and landed gentry. It is not only a beautiful decorative object but also an excellent collector's investment. Royal Dux porcelain is characterized by high firing quality, a characteristic glazed surface, and attention to anatomical details. The absence of a signature (or traces thereof) is common in such pieces from earlier years, which does not diminish their value but rather adds authenticity.
