Japanese Order of the Rising Sun 6th class – Kyokujitsu-shō with box
We present an extremely rare and prestigious Japanese Order of the Rising Sun (Kyokujitsu-shō) – a decoration established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji. This is likely a 6th class example, characterized by elegant green enameled paulownia leaves placed at the top. This order is a symbol of honor and tradition of the Land of the Rising Sun.
The decoration is preserved in very good condition, with clear details of the enamel and gilded elements. The set includes an original black lacquered box with hand-painted kanji characters on the lid – an additional asset enhancing collector value.
The Order of the Rising Sun is one of the most important Japanese state decorations, awarded for outstanding civil and military merits. 6th class examples, especially with full original equipment, are sought after by collectors of militaria, orders, and enthusiasts of Far Eastern culture.
Condition:
- Enamel: undamaged, glossy finish preserved
- Box: original patina, signs of wear consistent with age
- Suspension and ribbon: original, complete
