An extremely interesting and rare commemorative medal from 1893, originating from the charitable organization Mission Trust for Girls and Boys of the East Lancashire province in England. It is a badge for stewards – individuals responsible for organizing and supervising the foundation's activities. Technical description:
  • Oval heraldic medallion with delicate execution in gilded brass technique
  • Blue enameled border with a circumferential inscription
  • Center: gold bas-relief of Britannia or an allegorical female figure between columns (symbol of security and knowledge)
  • Sun rays surrounding the figure – symbol of enlightenment and hope
  • Blue grosgrain ribbon with a green stripe in the middle (traditional charitable colors)
  • Metal brooch STEWARD gilded, blue background – function designation
Historical significance: The medal comes from the period of high Victorian charitable activity.
