An exceptional, collectible edition of a portfolio of illustrations to the national epic – "Pan Tadeusz" by Adam Mickiewicz. The presented set is a beautifully preserved first edition from 1955, containing the famous woodcuts by Michał Elwiro Andriolli, which have become permanently embedded in Polish iconography and collective imagination.

The complete set consists of a book with an introduction by Janina Wiercińska (17, [3] pages) and a separate portfolio containing 25 plates with reproductions of the illustrations. Additionally, the book's text includes 8 smaller illustrations. All works are faithful reproductions of Andriolli's original woodcuts, which first appeared in the Lviv edition of "Pan Tadeusz" in 1881. It is these romantic, dramatic, and detailed visions of Soplicowo, its characters, and nature that shaped the perception of the poem for generations.

The condition of the copy is very good, which enhances its collectible value. The cover, designed by Marek Rudnicki, features an elegant, carefully crafted graphic design reminiscent of the era.
