Memento of a Veteran of the Italian Campaign – Soil from Under Bologna in a Metal Urn (World War II)
An extraordinary, emotional memento from a soldier of the 2nd Polish Corps – soil from the battlefields near Bologna, sealed in a sturdy metal urn.
This is not an ordinary collectible. It is a tangible fragment of history, kept for generations as a family heirloom. The soil collected by a veteran of the Italian campaign (1944–1945) comes from the Bologna area – the site of one of the most important and bloodiest battles fought by General Anders' soldiers. Poured into a handmade metal urn, it served as a symbolic bridge between the front and home, between the past and the present.
The urn is made of stamped sheet metal, with visible signs of use and the passage of time – which adds to its authenticity. Minor scuffs, patina, and an imperfect shape are evidence that this item was not only stored but also revered. Faint traces of original paint remain on the lid.

- Origin: Apuania / Bologna,
