Satirical badge "Albin Siwak super star" - Solidarność 1980s.

Unique and poignant propaganda badge from the period of the greatest activity of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union "Solidarność" in the 1980s. This small but significant item is an excellent example of underground satirical creativity aimed at prominent figures of the communist regime.

The badge bears the mocking inscription "Albin Siwak super star", which directly and ironically comments on the figure of Albin Siwak – a well-known activist of the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR), a deputy of the Polish People's Republic Sejm and a hardline ideologue, who was a symbol of party orthodoxy and unyielding struggle against "Solidarność". In opposition circles, he was perceived as a figurehead and a caricature of the people's authority, which made him a frequent target of mockery and satirical attacks.

This item is an authentic relic of modern Polish history. It was created in a period when underground printing presses, screen printing and small-scale printing were the main tools of the struggle with words and images. Badges of this type, discreetly worn on clothing or kept as proof of resistance, were a form of expressing views and solidarity with the democratic movement.

Collector's value: The badge is an extremely valuable acquisition for collectors of political history, Varsaviana, researchers of the PRL period, and all those interested in the heritage of "Solidarność". It is a material trace of the atmosphere of those years, social tensions, and evidence of the opposition's resilience and sense of humor. Its state of preservation is very good, which increases its museum value.
