Field telephone from the 2nd half of the 20th century - Romania | Militaria
We present to you an original field telephone, dating from the second half of the 20th century, manufactured in Romania. It is not only a functional relic of communication technology, but above all a testament to the history of military affairs and engineering in the Eastern Bloc countries. This model, used by the Romanian army during the Cold War, perfectly captures the spirit of an era in which reliability and simplicity of construction were key.
The telephone is maintained in the aesthetic characteristic of military equipment – a solid, durable housing made of bakelite or other plastic, reinforced with metal elements, has passed the test of time in surprisingly good condition. It has a classic crank for generating current (the so-called "inductor"), a handset on a cable, and sockets for connecting a field line. Every detail, from the screws to the markings, confirms its authenticity and military origin.
This item will be an excellent addition to any militaria collection, as well as an interesting decorative element in the study of a historian, a retro technology enthusiast, or in an interior design styled after the Polish People's Republic or industrial aesthetics. It also works well as a film or theater prop.
Condition:
- Visually very good condition, with traces of use appropriate to its age (scuffs, natural patina).
- The crank mechanism works smoothly.
- The housing is complete, without cracks or missing parts.
- The item is sold as a collector's exhibit – we do not guarantee full electrical functionality.
