Vintage board game P.M. Plus & Minus Art Deco ca. 1935
We present to you a true collector's rarity – a vintage board game „P.M. Plus & Minus” from the 1930s. It is not only a game, but also a small work of applied art from the Art Deco era. Originating from Great Britain, likely produced by the renowned house John Waddington Ltd, it is an extremely rare specimen proudly held in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (dated to ca. 1935).
The game is preserved in an impressive, almost museum-like condition. The box, covered with brown leather-imitation paper, is solid and intact – only slight scuffs on the edges are visible. The two-tone orange label on the lid perfectly captures the spirit of the era. Inside, the cardboard storage tray, four game boards, a set of hand-painted wooden pawns, and a deck of cards are in excellent condition. The set also includes the original instruction manual.
The gameplay is mathematical in nature and is designed for 2 to 8 players. The goal of the game is to move your four pawns from the stars at the top of the board to the point marked „25” at the bottom. It is not only great fun but also an excellent tool for developing counting skills.
