Pocket watch demobilized from the State Police of the Second Polish Republic 1939 - Swiss movement
Exceptional and extremely rare pocket watch, being a demobilized item from the State Police of the Second Polish Republic from 1939. This is an authentic historical artifact, directly linked to the tragic period of the outbreak of World War II. The watch likely constituted the personal equipment or service award of a pre-war policeman, which gives it enormous emotional and collectible value.
The movement is Swiss, guaranteeing the highest quality of workmanship typical of Swiss manufactories. The watch is technically functional and operates on jewel bearings, which indicates the high class of the movement. On the lid (back cover) there is a worn but still legible inscription "State Police" with number 19 and the image of a Polish eagle in a crown – a symbol of the statehood of the Second Polish Republic. This is direct evidence of its provenance.
The watch comes with an original chain with a carabiner, allowing it to be attached to a vest button or clothing, in accordance with historical use. The Swiss brand has not been fully identified, which adds an element of mystery and encourages further research.
Who is this item for? This is an absolute must-have for collectors of:
- Militaria and World War II memorabilia,
- History of the State Police and pre-war services,
- Pocket watches, especially those of historical provenance,
- Relics of the Second Polish Republic.
